An important corner building with gable-end facing down Silver Street.
C18. Ashlar, painted on ground-floor and gable-end. 3 storeys (plus
attic in south gable). Slated mansard roof, half-hipped to south and
with stone chimney-stack to north. Stringcourse over ground-floor. 3
windows facing Coppice Hill, 1 pair to left and 1 single to right. Sashes,
some glazing bars intact. Decorative iron work balconette on first-floor
window to right. Another larger balcony to a pair of first-floor windows
facing Silver Street. 1 plain rectangular doorway. The King's Arms continues
up Coppice Hill with a 2-storey C17 building of lower elevation. Coursed
rubble. Pantiled roof. 2 pairs of lights on first-floor with stone mullions
(sashes and casements) under a continuous weather-moulding. Another continuous
weather-moulding over ground-floor, which has 1 pair of lights, with wooden
mullion, and 3 doors (one double set in centre).

The King's Arms Hotel forms a group with Nos 3 to 8 (consec) The Shambles
Nos 2, 5 and 6 Coppice Hill, Nos 27 to 29 (consec) Silver Street and No 2 Kingston
Road.
