Two Boundary Walls to
East and West sides of
grounds at Priory Lodge

Main section of wall is to the east of the house running up Market Street
from the north side of No 5. Early to mid 19th century. Massive ashlar
wall (approximately 20ft high) stepped down the hill. Moulded cornice
and parapet, also stepped down the hill,each part of the wall having 3
large (blind) recessed panels. Some of these panels are round-headed,
others square-headed. Random rubble plinth. 1 blocked segmental-headed
door at south end of the wall. The north end incorporates part of the
outer wall of the demolished house ('The Priory'). 1 Tudor window of
2-lights with transom and rectangular hood-mould set high up. 2 smaller
paired lights lower down. A second section of wall runs to north of Priory
Lodge, along Newtown. Of random rubble (approximately 10 to 12ft high)
with plain coping. This wall joins the east side of the Priory Barn.

Priory Lodge with its boundary walls, the Priory Barn and Nos 1A to 3
(consec) form a group.
