Circa 1831 (VCH) 2 storeys. Ashlar Bath stone. Projecting plinth. String
at 1st floor level. Moulded stone cornice to flat eaves. Low pitched hipped
slate roof. Each house has 4 windows on 1st floor, plus central panel in
No 40, the right hand house, which has a slightly later shop front with modern
door framed in Doric panelled pilasters on ground floor. The left hand house
has 2 windows to left and a similar shop front to right; it also has a return
front of 4 windows (one blind panel with sash rebate per floor) and a box
porch. Arrowhead railings with dog rails for 5 yds to street.
