Early C18. 2 storeys and attic. English bond red brick. Old tile roof. 3 hipped 2 light dormer windows with architrave frames. 3 coupled windows in paired stone surrounds with beaded inner edges and glazing bar sashes on 1st floor and on ground floor outer corners; modern glazed window on ground floor to left, 6 panel door to left of centre in stone architrave with C19 ovolo cornice hood on curved scroll brackets and plain rectangular fanlights. Ground floor spoiled by later C19 shop front to right with panelled pilasters, 2 pane window, moulded cornice and brackets to fascia. Interior quite well arranged with corridor on 1st floor and wide stair hall. Curved bases to roof trusses in attic which post dates cornice of Edgar House (cuts across it slightly). At present the ground floor of No 2 includes the 1st window from right of No 4 (but not the 1st floor). Similar interlocking premises occur between No 4 and Nos 6 and 6A.
