Westbury House
ST 8751 SW 4/24A

2.
Mid to late C19. High red brick walls overgrown with creepers in 2 ranges
meeting at right angles. The North wall is the rear wall of a former umbrella
factory - 2 storeys, about 15-20 ft high - with brick modillion cornice and
stone cope. Heavily studded door to right (access to factory and possibly
originally to Parish Church) each wall has a blind stone arched window to
give it a Gothick feel. The East wall also about 15-20 ft high screens the
former Laverton County Infants School and is ramped down to South and becomes
a 6 ft garden wall.
