Milepost. 1840. Cast-iron classical style pillar with
pedimented top. Good lettering; SALISBURY / 19 / WARMINSTER / 2.
One of a series of cast-iron mileposts and boundary posts produced
in Warminster by iron founders Carson and Miller c1840, coinciding
with the consolidation of the Turnpike Act of the radial system
around Warminster.
