GV II

Detached cottage. Mid C17, 1747 rebuild to west. Rubble stone and
square-panelled timber-framing with brick nogging, thatched roof
with hip to west and half-hip to east end, brick gable end stacks.
Two-bay timber-framed build to east, 2 bays to west are rebuild or
part addition in dressed limestone. Single storey and attic, 3-
windowed front to garden; casements. Two planked doors to left
and right, C20 casement to left and 2-light casement to right. Two
2-light and one 3-light casement to attic of timber-framed build,
west build has 2-light casement to first floor. Left return is
windowless. Right return has external brick and stone stack with
offsets, 2-light and 3-light casement to timber-framed build, 2-
light casements to C18 build with TA/1747 incised on datestone
below first floor casement.
Interior has chamfered beams with stepped and runout stops, east
beam supported on chamfered posts with runout stops, planked doors
and one door with two fielded panels, open fireplace with timber
lintel on stone jambs, semi-circular bread oven to west.
