Lodge to Ashton Gifford House (q.v.), now detached cottage. C17,
altered late C18. Rendered cob, hipped thatched roof with pair of
diagonally-set axial brick stacks. Baffle entry. Single-storey
and attic, 2-window. Central planked door in thatched porch with
2-light casement either side, both with semi-circular heads with Y-
glazing bars. Two semi-circular headed attic dormers with similar
casements. Left return facing former drive to Ashton Gifford House
has canted bay with cast-iron hexagonal glazing bars, C20 top-hung
window to attic. C20 French windows to right return. Rear has
central outshut under thatch with semi-circular headed attic dormer
left and right, C20 lean-to extension to right.
Interior has open fireplace with restored lintel on brick jambs in
south room, blocked fireplace in north room. Known as West Lodge
and occupied as two dwellings until 1964.
