7/111 Glebe House

Detached house. Mid C18, rebuilt 1864. Flint and limestone
chequers, tiled roof with coped verges and gable end stone stacks.
Two-storey and attic, 3-window. Six-panelled door in latticed
porch to right of centre, 3-light ovolo-moulded wood mullioned
casement to right and 3-light and single-light to left. Plat band
to first floor; three 3-light wooden mullioned casements, partly
illegible datestone over door inscribed I.T / MDCCXL. Moulded
stone cornice to attic, three gabled half-dormers with 2-light
mullioned casements. Rear has lean-to additions with slate roofs
and C19 stair turret. Left return has square bay window with 16-
pane sash, 2-light casement to first floor, rear cob and timber-
framed kitchen wing has leaded casements. Right return has 2-light
casement to first floor and two single-light casements to attic.
Interior has C19 joinery: window shutters, 4-panelled doors,
marble fireplace in room to right of entrance. Kitchen range to
rear contains large open fireplace with moulded stone surround,
outhouse with bread ovens and copper.
