Description

CORSLEY CORSLEY VILLAGE (north side)
ST 84 NW 7/76
Gateway to front of Manor Farm

GV II

Gateway. Mid C16. Limestone ashlar. Renaissance. Moulded square-headed opening with flanking pilasters with egg and dart moulded capitals, plain frieze over to cornice supporting pilasters to pediment over recessed panel containing Thynne lion rampant.
Dwarf brick walls attached to either side with weathered stone coping. It has been suggested that this may have been part of a larger house, whose foundations lie below the front garden of the Manor Farmhouse (q.v.).
