Detached house. Early C19, extended later C19 and early C20.
English bond brick, tiled roof with bands of diamond tiles and
ceramic ridge cresting, diagonally-set brick stacks. Rambling L-
plan. Two-storey, 3-window entrance front. Glazed verandah with
9-panelled door with fanlight and 2-light casement within, first
floor has two 2-light casements with pointed lights and hoodmoulds,
early C20 gabled single-storey addition to left has canted bay with
casements in same style. Early C19 range to right has canted bay
with pointed lights and 2-light casement to first floor, right
return is rendered bow with French windows with pointed lights and
hoodmould, similar casement over. Garden front has gabled wings
with canted bays and casements with pointed lights and hoodmoulds,
bargeboards with pendants, early C20 wing projecting to right has
2-bay loggia to ground floor with Tudor-arched openings, casements
and oriel with pointed lights to first floor, front of this range
is plainer.
Interior has stairs with turned balusters, 6-panelled doors and
window shutters. Good example of country house in Picturesque
style.
