5/139 Housecroft Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. Late C18. Flemish bond brick with chamfered stone
quoins, Welsh slate and tiled hipped roofs, brick stacks. In two
units, with lower section to right: possibly the remains of a
larger house. Two-storey, 3-window. Six-panelled door with
pedimented wooden hood on stone brackets to left, 16-pane sash to
right and 3-light segmental-headed casement to range to right.
Plat band and 16-pane sash to first floor of left hand range, right
part has 3-light beaded mullioned casement. Single-storey
extension with 2-light casement attached to right, right return of
main range has 3-light beaded mullioned casement. Left return in
stretcher bond brick has C20 two-light casement. Rear has 3-light
casement, C20 French windows and casements with 8-pane sash and
single-light casement to first floor. Interior retains original
joinery and stairs with turned balusters.
