Circa 1857 in similar style to the Adcroft Street terraces. A 2 storey and basement
surburban house closing the vista up Adcroft Street. Ashlar, 5 bays, centre 3
break forward. Right hand bay has 4 storey tower. Shallow pitched hipped slate
roofs. Plinth, draughted ground floor, 1st floor cill band, overhanging eaves
with moulded cast iron gutter. Later casement windows, shallow pediments over
ground floor windows. Left hand 1st floor window blind. All window ranges contained
in slight breaks, except centre which is slightly recessed with projecting tripartite
porch with piers to cornice; tall side lights to glazed doors. The tower has band
over 1st floor, cill band to 3 grouped round headed windows on 3rd floor with cornice
below and belvedere balcony to rear.

Nos 1 to 13 (consec), the centre block of the District Hospital and Nos 16 to 29
(consec) form a group.
