Early C18 town house. Apparently house of the Singer family of clothiers. Ashlar
built on moulded plinth. Draughted corner piers. Moulded eaves cornice. Stone
tile roof with 2 off ridge brick chimneys. 3 dormers, the central dormer segmental-
headed all with moulded cornices. 5 ranges of glazing bar sash windows, raised
stone surrounds with moulded outer edges and beaded inner edges; brackets to cills.
Cornices to ground floor windows. Central Doric porch of 2 engaged piers and
moulded entablature; Triglyph frieze damaged: no triglyphs, only guttae. 6 panel
door in channelled surround, upper corners of rectangular fanlight over door void
because of segmental ceiling to hall. 2 storey brick rear extension to rubble
brick wall.

Nos 65 to 68 (consec), Nos 70 to 73 (consec), railings and gates to Nos 68 and
70, dwarf stone wall to No 72, No 64 (Lloyds Bank) and Usher's Brewery Corner Block,
form an outstanding group with No 8 and premises occupied by K.J. Lestor to south
west of No 8 Wicker Hill.
