Mid-late C19. 6 bay vessel, gable end to street. Rough faced coursed rubble.
Tripartite facade with corner buttresses to centre break. Large rose window with
much tracery to 1st floor and head stops. Two 4-centre arch headed lancets with
traceried heads at sides. Central pointed arch doorway with 3 orders, label and
impost moulding; philactery with "St James's Hall" upon it above.

The Union Street Almshouses and street wall with No 9 Union Street, St James' Hall,
Nos 16 to 19 (consec) Church Street and the National Schools form a group.+
