GV II


Farmhouse. C16, extended mid C17, altered C19. Rubble stone,
stone slate roof with rendered stacks. L-plan. Single-storey and
attic, 2-window north front. C16 range to left has planked door
and 2-light C19 mullioned casement to left, 3-light casement
inserted into former mullioned window and 4-panelled door to right,
one raking attic dormer with 2-light casement. C17 cross wing to
right has pair of plate glass sashes and blocked window to ground
floor, lintel string course, two 2-light recessed hollow chamfered
mullioned casements with one hoodmould to first floor and blocked
2-light mullioned casement to attic. Right return of cross wing
has blocked 2-light mullioned casements, lean-to ground floor
extension. Rear has lean-to extension with planked doors and 2-
light mullioned casement within, three raking attic dormers with 2-
light casements, wing to left has pairs of C19 plate glass sashes
to ground and first floor, broken string courses, 2-light mullioned
casement to attic, rear roof pitch is tiled with Bridgwaters.
Interior has deep chamfered beams, planked doors, blocked
fireplaces. C16 four-bay roof of heavy scantling, with collar and
tie-beam roof trusses with unusual bracing from below collars to
principals, three tiers of purlins. Three-bay C17 roof in wing
with collar and tie-beam trusses and two tiers of purlins.
