9/57 No 71 (Ostlers House)



Cottage at end of row. Circa 1700. Random rubble stone, stone
slate roof, with coped verge to right. Two-storey with attic, 3-
window. Planked door to centre in beaded architrave with flat
stone hood on brackets, 2-light C20 UPVC windows either side.
Moulded lintel string course. First floor has central 2-light
cyma-mullioned casement with flanking 3-light mullioned casements.
Full gabled attic with 2-light mullioned casement with dripstone.
Right return has 2-light mullioned casement to attic, blocked
mullioned casement to first floor, C19 rubble stone single-storey
addition with 16-pane sash. Rear partly overlapped by extension to
No 70 (q.v.). Interior said to have open fireplace, winding stairs
and planked doors.
