3/84 Viaduct over Midford Brook


Partly in Monkton Combe C.P., Avon. Viaduct carrying Bath to
Warminster road. 1834 by G.P. Manners of Bath, builder was D.
Aust. Limestone ashlar. Eleven semi-circular headed arches on
square piers with imposts, plat band to road level and plain
parapet, pilasters to sides. Built for part of the road
improvements during the re-alignment of the turnpike from Bath to
Southampton via Warminster, reinforced with concrete 1920.
