3/101 Baptist Chapel


GV II


Baptist Chapel. 1815 inscribed on datestone on gable. Limestone
ashlar, double Roman tiled roof with coped verges. Gable end to
road. Single storey. Central round-arched doorway with double
planked doors with ornamental strap hinges, tall flanking 20-pane
windows, datestone over. Left return has planked door and 16-pane
sash to ground floor, round-arched first floor window. Right
return has 16-pane sash and two round-arched windows, 6-panelled
door to right. Attached to rear is former minister's cottage with
sashes.
Interior has 4-bay roof with tie-beam trusses with curved bracing
from tie-beams to principals, reading desk at east end.
