Detached house. Late C18, extended C19. Limestone ashlar, stone
slate roof, gable stone stacks and coped verges. Three parallel
ranges. Two-storey, 3-window south front. Cellar has 3-light
mullioned window to left and 2-light casement to right, ground
floor has C19 tripartite sash and plate glass sash. Plat band to
first floor; 2 plate glass sashes and one 12-pane sash. Moulded
cornice to plain blocking course. Left return has Tuscan loggia
with C20 glazing attached to front range, entrance door with 6
fielded panels and to middle range mullioned and transomed window
with arched lights to stairs. Right return has beaded 2-light
mullioned casement to cellar, two 12-pane ground and first floor
sashes. Parallel rear range has 12-pane sashes. Interior has
stairs with stick balusters, 6-panelled doors in panelled reveals,
delicate plaster ceilings with fluted and swagged friezes.
Carriage house attached to left of front has central square-headed
doorway flanked by elliptical-arched double doors, flanking short
wings have planked doors and lunettes over, first floor of right
hand wing is jettied on coupled Tuscan columns, rear has mullioned
casements.
