II


Row of three cottages, C17 and C18, converted to two houses and
altered c1960. Rubble stone with stone slate roof, three ridge
stacks and south end stack. Two storeys. No 189, to right is C17,
originally double-fronted with end stacks, 3-light ovolo-moulded
mullion window with hoodmould each floor each side of door. C20
added enclosed porch, reused C18 two-light window over door, also
added in C20, and one-window matching C20 range at right end with
door and 2-light window above. Monks House has C17 one-window
cottage to right, matching No 189, with 3-light ovolo-moulded
mullion window and hoodmould each floor and door to right. Stack
to left. To left, a C18 double fronted house with flush mullion
windows, 3-light to ground floor, 2-light above, centre which
formerly had a door now obscured by large C20 gabled projection.
Garage addition on south end.
Interior: No 189 has chamfered and stopped beams and large timber-
lintel fireplace at south end. North end chimney, now internal,
formerly had curved outside stack.
