Inn, mid C19, ashlar fronted with slate roof, coped gables, end-
wall stacks and one ridge stack. Three storeys, 4 window range.
Raised angle strips, plinth, floor bands and eaves band. Coping
carried on moulded kneelers. Sash windows with bracketed sills,
9-pane to upper floor, 12-pane elsewhere. Off-centre 4-panel door
with overlight in broad Roman Doric ashlar porch, 2 paired columns
each side, cornice and parapet and single pilaster respond. Large
iron lamp bracket on front wall, not apparent in c1900 photographs.
