Pair of cottages, now one, early C18 in origin converted to
picturesque estate cottages 1858 for T.H.A. Poynder of Hartham
Park (q.v.). Rubble stone with some grey pennant crazed rubble
and stone tiled roofs. Two storeys and attic to right, one and a
half to left. Stone mullion windows with iron lattice glazing.
Main range has coped east gable with end stack, half hipped west
gable. To right, large dormer with bargeboards, first floor 2-
light and ground floor 3-light window with hoodmoulds. Fragment of
C18 dripcourse at ground floor right. To left, projecting 2 storey
gabled porch in grey crazed rubble with Bath stone dressings.
Tudor-arched doorway, upper floor corbelled out with flush quoins,
2-light window, shield in apex. Lower section to left has dormer
gable and one-window range of 2-light mullion windows with
hoodmoulds. West end wall has upper 2-light with hoodmould and
ground floor porch, in grey crazed rubble, gabled with Tudor-arched
doorway. Single light to left. To rear, paired gabled rear wings,
wholly of 1858 with end wall stacks and mullion windows. Dated
rainwater head. In west end of front range, early C18 bolection
moulded fireplace with stone shelf.
