3/79 The Plough Inn

GV II


Inn. Late C18 with C19 addition. Limewashed rubble with gabled
stone slate roof and 3 stacks: end stone stacks with brick caps to
C18 range, end brick stack to C19 wing. Two-storey, 4-window
range parallel to road: C18 wing to right, C19 addition to left.
Windows to C19 section are 4-pane sashes under segmental heads:
similar sashes to C18 range under flat heads with the exception of
one 2-light casement to left upper. Gabled late C19 porches to
both elements, part-glazed doors. Plough suspended as inn sign
between ranges. Rear courtyard range much altered in the C20.
