Estate cottage, c1865 for Draycot Park estate, squared rubble stone
with ashlar dressings, deep-eaved Bridgwater tile roof ornate barge
boards and eaves boards. Two ridge stacks with Tudor-style ceramic
pots. Two storeys, 3-window range with projecting gabled centre
bay, flush quoins and Tudor-style mullion windows with hoodmoulds
and ogee heads to light. Two-light windows each side, centre
single light over door with Tudor-arched head and flat hoodmould.
East end has similar ground floor 2-light and north east rear wing
has similar 2-light and first floor single light. House is
illustrated in Draycot House sale catalogue when it was apparently
a head gardener's house associated with the walled gardens behind.
At that time the upper centre window was blank with crowned C
monogramme, for the 1st Earl Cowley.
