5/135 Foxham Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse, late C17, possibly on earlier core, altered, rubble
stone with some ashlar and some red brick, stone slate roof and end
stacks. Two storeys and attic, double-fronted with two hipped
dormers. Front has early C19 4-12-4-pane sash each side to first
floor and ground floor stone-slate roofed canted bays, 4-16-4-pane
to left, 8-16-8-pane to right. Centre door in flush ashlar
surround with hood on brackets. Right side of facade is refaced
in early C19, small ashlar blocks. Centre and left have rubble
stone ground floor with remains of dripcourse and old red brick and
flush quoins to first floor, possibly late C17. Rubble end walls.
Two storey and attic gabled rear wing with attic casement pair and
first floor 2-light flush cyma-moulded mullion window and ground
floor lean-to. In angle to left a lower range parallel to main
front, rubble stone, raised to 2-storey in painted brick. Across
west end is mid C19 red brick range with cambered head 16-pane
sashes, one above, two below in south gable end, and two above on
west side wall.
Interior: large west end timber lintel fireplace, chamfered spine
beams to ground floor. Chamfered and stopped centre beams to
first floor and heavy timber across opening to rear wing. Three
bay roof with tie-beam and collar trusses, late C17 or early C18.
