SU 07 NW LYNEHAM PRESTON

8/77 No 8 (Bramble Cottage, and
No 8a (Patrick's Cottage)

House, C15-C16 and later. Coursed rubble limestone probably
replacing original timber frame. Tiled roof with 2 dormers each
side. No 8, 3 bays, single storey and attic. Recessed door in
centre bay. C20 timber casement windows.
Interior: 2 cruck trusses of apex type L2. and spur to wall plate.
Major stack with oven at left gable and axial stack between bays 2
and 3. Both stacks have chamfered timber fire beams. Possible
site for stair at side of gable stack. Right bay has deep
chamfered cross ceiling beam. No 8a, C17 or later. Cross wing to
No 8. Coursed limestone rubble with tiled roof and 2 side stacks.

owned by Bradenstoke Priory (AM).
