Pair of cottages now one house, mid C18 extended at south end later
C18. Rubble stone with stone tiled roofs. South end wall stack
and 2 stacks at original end walls, brick on stone bases. Original
house double fronted, two 2-light cyma-moulded mullion windows
above, with small paned sashes and two 12-pane sashes in plain
stone surrounds below. Former central door in cyma-moulded
surround now has 12-pane sash also. Of one build with No 8 dated
1762. Straight joint to left end extension, 2-window range, upper
2-light mullion windows, ground floor 3-light and 6-panel door in
chamfered surround. Cyma-moulds to ground floor and upper left
window, upper right window with stopped chamfer moulds possibly
inserted. Property was formerly a malt house with ruined malting
shed, not of special interest, to rear. Nos 7 to 9 (consecutively)
Cuttle Lane have group value as a range of C18 cottages under a
single roof.
