GV II
Pair of houses, and early C18 double fronted cottage with ranges to
each end added or altered from existing buildings. Squared rubble
with imitation slate roofs. The central cottage, shared between
Nos 1 and 2, is of one-and-a-half storeys, double fronted with
right end wall stack. 2 dormer gables with two light bead-moulded
mullion windows and dripmoulds. Coped gables with saddlestones. 2
windows below under continuous dripmould broken for central coped
gabled stone porch with saddlestone and large impost blocks. One 2-
light bead-moulded window to left, altered window to right. Range
to left, part of No 1, is 2 storey with end wall stack. Upper 2-
light cyma-moulded mullion window, dripmould below broken for C19
16-pane sash. Door in chamfered surround with hood on brackets.
South range to right, part of No. 2, is taller, 2 storeys built
over end wall of original cottage. Upper window with raised bead
moulded surround for sash but with C20 window. Ground floor C20
metal windows, one in plain surround, other in damaged, former
doorcase. The original mullion windows have small paned windows,
one side fixed, the other a sliding sash.
Interior: central cottage has Tudor arched stone fireplace to
ground floor right side. Left side range has very large section
purlins to roof, possibly indicating earlier date.
