House, C17, rubble stone with stone tiled roofs. One-and-a-half
storeys. 3 sections. To centre, large gable to street with first
floor paired 8-pane sashes in chamfered surround with hoodmould
over and cyma-moulded mullion. Ground floor window to right under
timber lintel with iron opening light, 3-light double chamfered
mullion window with hoodmould to left. Leaded lights to ground
floor. To left, one window range, similar to Old Post Office
(q.v.) adjoining. Dormer gable with 3-light recessed ovolo-mouled
mullion window and iron opening light, door with timber lintel and
single light window in chamfered surround. Continuous stonework
between sections and to Old Post Office. Now incorporated is No. 1
Water Lane, to right, mid C18, with end wall stacks, 2 storey and
attic, 2-window range. 2 hipped dormers, 2 first floor flush cyma-
moulded 2-light mullion windows, one ground floor 3-light cyma-
moulded window with dripstone and door to left, set in stone tiled
and rendered porch incorporating bay window to left. Low stone
wall from porch to porch of No. 2 Water Lane (q.v.).
