Nos. 19a, 20, 21 and 22

Row of 4 cottages. 1730's. Nos 19a and 20 brick fronted, 20 and
21 colourwashed stone, all with stone slate roofs. Single storey
and attic, each of single bay. Various C20 doors, and various 4-
pane sashes and C20 replacement windows. Gabled dormers. No 22
has door replaced by window and is merged with No 23. The row is
listed for historical interest, they being part of a row of 7
houses erected to create votes and were much discussed in the 1774
election dispute. They stand immediately outside the walls of the
Saxon Burgh.
