SU 09 SE THE LEIGH UPPER WATERHAY

5/225 Manor Farmhouse

Farmhouse, now 2 dwellings Early C18. Roughcast on stone, with
stone plinth. Stone tiled roof. Two-storey, 3 plus 1 bays, double
pile plan with central dining hall and stair to rear. Three left
bays symmetrical with panelled door in moulded stone doorcase
having dentilled cornice broken forward as canopy on consoles over
door. Cornice covers two 8-pane side sash windows. Twelve-pane
sashes, paired with stone mullion on ground floor, all with plain
stone surrounds. Gable stacks, and stack to gable of 4th bay.
Rear block also has 12-pane sashes, but casement windows to ground
floor. Slated lean-to against right gable with central door and 2
large oval oculi. Dairy with shared stack attached to rear of
lean-to.
