SU 08 NE PURTON CRICKLADE ROAD

8/306 Hurstead Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. C18 and early C19. Limestone rubble, rendered on
front. Stone slate roof. 2 storeys and attic, 3 bays through hall
plan. Recessed central half-glazed 4-panel door with margin glazed
fanlight and simple canopy. 20-pane sashes. Roof hipped with 2
hipped leaded dormers. Brick stacks on rear slope. Parallel rear
block of earlier date, probably C18. Colourwashed rubble and stone
slated roof. 2 lower storeys, 3 bays, with offcentre door and
irregularly placed casement windows, all with timber lintels.
Lean-to on west side and tall brick stack.
