3/146 Willesley House

Country house. Probable late C16 origin (1583 date on internal
lintel) with late C17, C18 and C19 alterations and additions; in
the course of extensive renovation at time of resurvey (June 1986).
Coursed rubble with flush rusticated dressed stone quoins, stone
dressings and stone slate roofs with stone stacks. U-shaped plan:
central core range with late C17 refronting and end wings to south,
three C19 wings to north. South front of 3 elements: central 2-
storey, 4-window section with advanced single-storey, 1-window bay
to right and blank gable end of wing to left with lateral stack.
Windows are late C19 small pane wooden cross-mullions in C17
moulded stone surrounds. Ground floor window to right-hand bay has
larger similar window. Central bolection-moulded doorway with
glazed C20 door. First floor string course, bolection-moulded
cornice, hipped roof to advanced bay to right and 1 hipped dormer.
East end wall of core range has chamfered mullioned fenestration
with hoodmoulds.
Interior. Ground floor room to left has fine marble C18 chimney-
piece with carved brackets and central panel with rural scene; C18
staircase with plain balusters and mahogany handrail in central
passage with dated lintel.
