Mid C19 alterations to probably late C17 house standing on site of earlier
one. Two storeys attic and cellar. Chalk rubble with brick dressings.
Hipped pantile roof and large brick chimney of irregular plan off centre left.
Late C19 gabled projection in Cotswold stone facing to rubble on right hand
side. Two gabled dormers. Two ranges of windows on ground floor with segmental
heads, to left a tripartite glazing bar sash, to right 4 light casement.
Large and tiled gabled porch axil with church, plank door, lintel over has
chamfer with ball decoration and sarcen stone jambs. Rear has a 3 light ovolo
mullion window retaining an old casement possibly circa 1700. Altered.
Interior: inglenook fireplace. First floor has a fireplace with cast iron
reeded sides and cast splinx grate head; steep grate said to come from a house
lived in by I. K. Brunel. Also on first floor, fragment of the beam from
earlier roof.
