8/169 Nos. 2 and 4 (Bank House)

Bank and offices. 1884. Brick and stone dressings. 3-storey,
bowed corner of 3 bays between rusticated pilasters, and 4 bays to
left in Wood Street, and 3-bay return in Cricklade Street. Corner
contains arched entrance between part fluted pilasters with broken
ogee pediment with garland. First floor centre window with shell
pediment, lateral windows with moulded lugged architraves. Moulded
brick swags over. 12- and 8-pane sashes. 2nd floor has 4-pane
sashes, also within moulded architraves. Pediment with oeil de
boeuf. Wood Street elevation rusticated ground floor and end
pilasters, lugged moulded architraves with frieze and cornice
containing 12-pane sashes. 6-pane sashes to second floor, and
crowning entablature. Cricklade Street elevation as Wood Street
but central elaborated datestone.
