Mid C18 front to C17 building. 3 storeys red brick on raised plinth. Moulded
strings at 1st and 2nd floor levels. Moulded dentil brick cornice broken
forward over pilasters with Doric stone caps, moulded bases, flanking 1st
and 2nd floors. The pilasters rest on small projecting brick porches with
flanking brick pilasters with Doric stone caps and moulded stone pediments.
The right hand porch is blocked. That on the left was originally similar
but has since been opened as the entrance. Above the main cornice is a renewed
brick parapet with moulded stone coping swept up to sides with piers continuing
line of the flanking pilasters.
5 windows to each floor, flush architrave framed sashes, no glazing bars flat
brick arches. Centre window ground floor replaces original entrance. Door
of 8 fielded panels with moulded frame in left hand porch. The earlier C17
part of the building to the rear is tile hung, some leaded casements survive.
2 storey wing with steep pitch old tile roof. C19 rendering to garden front
with centre window flanked by 2 panels.
Interior: very fine C18 staircase with twisted balusters moulded handrail
swept up to columnar newels, shaped brackets. Good fielded panelling,
to staircase. Diagonally set fireplace to hall. The hipped roof wing contains
a very fine mid C18 plaster ceiling with deep raking cove. Elaborately stuccoed
beam across room with foliage and heads surmounting cartouches. Moulded compartment
frames. Moulded cornice. Good chimneypiece with broken pediment, delicate
rococo floral ornament above.

Nos 41 to 49 (odd) form a group.
