5/24 The Lodge


Lodge to Alderbury House. Mid-C19. Flemish bond brick, half-hipped
tiled roof with brick stack to rear. T-plan. 2 storey, 1-window
front. Door with 6 flush panels is in rustic porch with tiled
roof, to right is one 2-light latticed cast-iron casement and to
left is 3-light canted bay with cast-iron latticed casement. Rear
has two small cast-iron latticed casements.
Interior not inspected. Several courses of C18 brickwork along
the base of the west and north walls suggest an earlier building on
this site. Included for group value with Alderbury House, (q.v.).
