4/169 Manor House


Detached house. Plaque on south side incised GPJ/1833, initials of
George Purejoy Jervoise, matching 1920s extension to west. Flemish
bond buff-coloured brick, hipped Welsh slate roof with brick
stacks. Gable end to road, 2-storey, 6-window front. Central 6-
panelled door in 3-bay early C19 part, either side are 12-pane
sashes, first floor has three 9-pane sashes, all with segmental
heads. Moulded brick eaves courses to deep eaves of shallow-
pitched roof, stack with toothed capping. 1920s extension to
right, in same style has 4-light casement, two 2-light casements
and glazed door to ground floor, with three 9-pane sashes to first
floor. Left return has external stack, two 12-pane sashes to
ground and two 9-pane sashes to first floor. Rear is garden front
with central half-glazed door with fanlight and oval date plaque
over, either side is 12-pane sash, first floor has three 9-pane
sashes. To left is extension with glazed door. 2-light casement
and late C20 door, first floor has three 9-pane sashes. Right
return is gable to road, with two casements to ground and late C20
casements to first floor.
Interior not accessible but said to have 6-panelled doors, newel
stairs with turned columnar balusters and round mahogany handrail.
