Detached house. c1700, additions C18, refaced c1820. English bond
brick, hipped tiled roof, brick stacks. L-plan. 2-storey, 3-
window front to south range of 1790s. Central 2-storey porch of
c1820 with 4-panelled door in reeded case with paterae, open porch
with Roman Doric columns, to left is 12-pane sash in early C19
extension, to right is 20-pane sash. First floor has three 12-pane
sashes, dentilled eaves. Right return has 12-pane sash, blocked
door with hexagonal window, 4-light and 2-light casements, C20
porch to right of original range; refaced c1820, first floor has
sash and two 2-light casements with margin panes and gablets,
dentilled eaves. Left return has late C19 bay window with sashes,
to left is wing of c1820, first floor added late C19, sashes and
casements. Rear has 2-light casements and 4-pane sashes, dentilled
eaves, to left is original build with rear outshut and hipped roofs
to C18 single-storey kitchen extension, 2-light casements.
Interior of north range has open fireplace and chamfered beams,
original build retains former exterior timber-framed wall on west.
Late C18 build has C18 marble fireplace on first floor, rest of
fireplaces are early C19 with reeded surrounds with paterae.
Stairs of c1830 have stick balusters, ramped handrail and shaped
cheeks. 4-panelled doors in reeded cases. Internal shutters.
Original build may have been baffle-entry plan, this door now
blocked.
