7/212 Mushroom Cottage


Cottage orne. Early C19. For Newhouse Estate (q.v. Whiteparsh).
Flemish bond brick with cob, hipped thatched roof, brick stacks.
Cross plan; two arms are outshuts, two are 2-storey, one window per
arm. Planked door in 2-storey wing with 2-light pointed casement
with diamond leading to right. Left return has pointed 2-light
casements with diamond leading to ground and first floor. Rear is
outshut with same pointed casements to ground floor. Right return
has C20 casements to 2-storey arm. Hipped thatched roof with deep
eaves forming verandah, pair of diagonally-set axial brick stacks.
Interior said to have reset C17 deeply chamfered beam, winding
