House, with attached services, now cottage to rear. C17 to C18,
altered early and mid-C19. English garden-wall bond brick, with
limestone quoins and some flint, tiled roof with brick and ashlar
stacks. T-plan. Entrance front at right angles to road; 2-storey,
3-window. Central door with 4 fielded panels is recessed in porch
with tiled canopy on carved stone brackets. To left is group of
three 12-pane sashes with dividing flat stone mullions, to right is
2-storey stone canted bay with narrow sashes and French windows to
ground floor. First floor has pair of 8-pane sashes with central
mullion, over door and left of bay. Brick toothed eaves cornice.
Left return is garden front facing road; 2-storey, 4-window. To
right is group of three tall 12-pane sashes with stone mullions, to
left is canted bay with French window and sashes, first floor has
group of three 8-pane sashes to right, with 12-pane sash to left.
Rear wall has lozenge decoration in vitrified headers, half-glazed
door to ground floor, 12-pane sash above. Attached to rear left is
former mid-C19 2-storey service wing, with casements, now called
St. Georges Cottage.
Interior not accessible, but RCHM recorded C17 north range with
original roof and chamfered beams, early C19 reeded joinery and mid-
Cl9 plaster ceiling cornices and panelling. Work here by R Blake,
