II
Detached house. Mid Cl7 with early C19 addition to west, late C19
to north. Flint and limestone bands, cob and brick to rear
additions, thatched roof with brick stacks. Gable end to road. 2-
storey, 3-window front. Central door with 6 fielded panels and
fanlight with gabled tiled canopy, to either side is one 4-pane
sash in stone case with hoodmould. First floor has two 6-pane
sashes and one casement to left. To left corner are chamfered
rusticated quoins. Left return has external stack and one 4-light
and one plate-glass sash to ground floor, first floor has one 6-
pane and one 4-pane sash. Right return has one casement to first
floor, C19 lean-to extensions to ground floor with slate roofs. To
rear right is cob and thatched early C19 extension with plate-glass
and 4-pane sashes, to left is double-gabled late C19 extension with
2-light wooden casements to ground and first floors.
Interior has deeply chamfered cross beams in east room to right of
door, entrance hall has reused C18 barleysugar balusters and carved
spandrels to Imperial-style stairs, inserted after removal of Cl7
ceiling in early C19. 3-light chamfered mullioned window in east
room, to formerly external north wall. C19 bolection-moulded
fireplace to west room.
