Lower Farmhouse

Detached farmhouse. C17, rebuilding c1800. Timber-framing,
Flemish bond brick to rebuilt west wall, some limestone and flint,
concrete tiled roof, brick stacks. Gable end to road with
entrance. 2-storey, 3-window. 6-panelled door, 16-pane sash
with cambered head and blocked door to right. First floor has 16-
pane sash, cusped bargeboards to gable; half-hipped roof. Right
return has large external lateral stack, to right are 3-light and
2-light casements, first floor has two 3-light and one 2-light
casement. Left return has integral outshut under C20 catslide
roof, single and 2-light casement to ground floor, C20 dormer to
catslide roof.
Interior has stairs in outshut, 4-bay roof with two tiers of butt
purlins and some curved windbracing. (Unpublished records of RCHM
