3/65 Front gateway to Idmiston Manor
and abutting walls
GV II*

Free standing arched gate to Idmiston Manor. C16-C17. Limestone.
Piers carrying four-central arch, rebated to take gate. Low
pitched gable over with double offsetting copings and three raised
ball finials. On each face a mantled coat of arms in relief, of
Rowbach and Whitney families. Mouldings of gate similar to
internal fireplaces of house (q.v.). Later brick walls abutting
each side with stone copings, corresponding in length to front
elevation of house.
