II

Cottage. C16. Timber framed with colourwashed brick infill, on
brick footings. Thatched roof. One storey and attic, 2 bays with
central stack, added weatherboarded half bay to right, further
extended by a further half bay under lower roof. Framing 2 panels
high with tension bracing to jowled posts. Much timber reused.
Original door to second bay replaced by door in gable under tiled
porch. Timber casement windows. One flush dormer to front.
Interior has floor inserted on nailed rails within an earlier
framed building with an open hearth, and the superior bay to right.
Roof has principals supporting ridge on nailed yoke.
