House, now 2 dwellings. Early C17, altered. Timber framed with wattle and daub
infilling, some brick and flint on gable, cob addition. Thatched roof. Single
storey and attic, 3 bays, with left end bay narrower, and on right end added
half bay of cob with brick patching. Framing 3 panels high with arched corner
braces. Entrances on north side, having mid/late C20 board doors in thatched
porches. C19 timber casement windows replacing applied oriels, but original
window in left bay with diamond-set, square-section wood mullions. Two flush
dormers, that to No 4 larger. Rear: the timber framing mostly replaced by brick
at lower level and with straight braces; doors and windows late C20.
Interior: much of the timber frame exposed, the posts jowelled, stop-chamfered
beams; partition wall between Nos 2 and 4 an original one rising to roof; roof
has collared queen post trusses clasping square-section through purlins and some
mid braces; No 4 has chamfered joists and the chamfered timber bressummer to
former stone fireplace (removed mid-late C20).

Cottage. Early C17. Timber framed with wattle and daub infilling,
some brick and flint on gable. Thatched roof. Single storey and
attic, 3 bays, with left end bay narrower, and brick half bay on
right end containing major stack. F-raming 3 panels high with
curved corner braces. Entrances on north side, boarded doors
within thatched porches. C19 timber casement windows replacing
applied oriels, but original window in left bay with lozenge
glazing mullions. Two flush dormers, that to No 4 larger.
Interior: Large stone fireplace with chamfered beam, the chamfer
returned at ends to meet chamfer of jambs. Ceiling beams with
check and scoop stops. Straight braces to ties and plates, and
jowled posts.
