Field barn, formerly part of a group of farm buildings. Probably C18, with reroofing
in 1849. Timber frame with horizontal lapped board cladding on brick plinth wall;
some flint footings at east end. Slate roof. Plain long rectangle with full
height double doors, 2 pairs facing south and 2 pairs to north, all plank doors.
Single unbroken roof line to half - hipped ends. Loading opening to east end.
Some corrugated iron at west end. Interior has beaten earth floor, six full bays
and two half bays at ends, tie beam with raking queen struts to light-weight two
pwrlins, trenchedjand rafters. Trusses set to heavy jowelled posts on continuous
cill. Regular studs, cross-braced in each bay. Joints mainly pegged. A simple
barn but with well preserved main framing. The barn no longer belongs to
Cooper's Farm.
