Broad frontage house in street row. C17 or earlier, much modified in C19 and
late C20. Exposed rubble in courses, formerly rendered, concrete tile roof,
large brick stack, and cropped stone stack at ridge. One of the earliest
surviving properties in this street, possibly 3-room cross passage with main
stack and stair to left, but last bay to right possibly added. Two storeys,
irregular fenestration; ground floor has flush panelled doorfar left, opposite
main fireplace, then canted bow shop window in 1:3:1 panes to flat roof, C20
door, two 4-pane sashes, and a large C19 canted shop front with stall-board,
fascia to consoles, and glazed door with transome light. First floor has two
2-light small-paned C20 casements, two similar with horizontal bar, and a 4-pane
sash over the shop-front. The cropped stack is far left, and lofty brick stack
to left of final bay. Interior substantially modified, no original roof except
remains of C17 or C18 principals; some evidence for winder stair, front left.
Increasingly mutilated remains of a very interesting structure.
