GV II

House in short street row. Early and mid-C19. Coursed and squared limestone,
slate roof, bitumenised. In two sections, low left and higher right with barge-
board. Two storeys, 2+2 windows; at ground floor four 12-pane sashes, at first
floor two 2-light glazing-bar casements, one set high to eaves, and two 12-pane
sashes. All sashes set to outer wall plane and with voussoirs. Good 6-panel
fielded door and 2-pane transom light in architrave with flat metal hood on
decorative cast iron brackets; the door far left in right-hand unit. Straight
joint in masonry between two units. Return gable has 12-pane sash over small
light. Two large brick gable stacks. Flat-roofed extension not of special
interest. With No 1 (qv) is the limit to pre-C20 development on this edge of
the town centre.
